Charles Ramseyer, jeweler I create handcrafted hammered gold and sterling silver jewelry that honors ancient symbols and traditional artistry technique.  My jewelry combines originality with tradition, celebrating the union of the new with the old, the simple with the bold.   Wearing this jewelry is about being bold, strong, confident, entirely you.  It is about individual statement.  It is art that wants to be worn, art that wants to be seen.  My own life is an exercise in individual statement.  Having grown up in the North Shore region of Chicago, art was a significant part of my life.   A grandfather with an adventurous spirit and an interest in geology opened my eyes to the wonders of the world beneath us.  As a young adult, I tried my hand at different art forms, and found interest, passion, and enjoyment.  Those experiences shaped who I am today.  Today, I work as a silver and gold smith, and indulge in stone sculpture and architectural woodworking.   Self-taught, I learn from every experience and every teacher that walks along my path.
